PubNight #876 (7/10/13) - The Highlander NYC

"There can be only one!"

"From the dawn of time we came; moving silently down through the centuries, living many secret lives, struggling to reach the time of the Gathering; when the few who remain will battle to the last. No one has ever known we were among you... until now."

That could be a bit of drunken hyperbole about the arduous journey to our weekly pub selection, perhaps. But, in this case, it refers to the immortals on their way to battle for "The Prize", here in NYC, in...The Highlander.

I walked by this place recently and thought it looked like an inviting, and convenient, spot to spend an evening. And the bartender -- the owner's brother -- seemed friendly.

Nearby trains include BDFM1237NRQ and PATH, and even the 8th Avenue and Lexington Avenue lines, as well as Port Authority, are pretty close.

It's owned by an actual Scotsman, so leave your Sean Connery impressions at home, but get yourself to the The Highlander NYC tonight.
