The War of Jenkins Ear started on this day in 1739. Despite a brilliant name, that doesn't seem like a brilliant reason to raise a glass. The 55th anniversary of the Smurfs seems perhaps even less appropriate.
Fortunately, we're Pubnighters. We need no special occasion to come together and drink! I invite you all to join me at SoHo Room -- uncharted territory for us, but I spent a nice evening there a couple weeks ago.
