PubNight Nine-Mother-Effing-Hundred (1/8/14) - Valhalla

Previous PubNights PubNight Home

This is almost too much content for one email, guys. Since our last PN we've had Christmas, New Year's, and what appears to be the End of Days. (Funny, I always thought it would be hot, not cold.) But we're not just resuming standard PubNight service tonight--we're celebrating the nine-hundredth time we've gathered to drink beer and bitch about our jobs. What started with one unassuming little email from Stuart in March 1996 has become something that lives on even after nearly all of the original participants have fled New York and/or stopped spending their nights out. The power of drinking is indeed awe-inspiring.

Some may remember the days when we would spend the PNs ending in 50 or 100 at the late lamented Hell in MePa. We've kept the afterlife theme going since then, at times with Perdition (a personal favorite of mine). But given that it's colder here right now than in Antarctica, I think it's prudent to stay a little closer to the subway. (Also, in case the end really IS nigh, I'd really rather be at the happy drinky place than the other one.) I don't need to talk up Valhalla to you guys; we know what's in store for us there. The next nine hundred PubNights are a little hazier.

See you in Valhalla!
