Perhaps it's the insane temperatures, but what sounds really appealing to me right now is a cozy little neighborhood place where the drinks are cheap, the bartenders affable, the seating comfy. No wine bar or cocktail lounge is going to suffice this week; we need a good old fashioned local. (Also I accidentally saw Pippin again tonight and would rather keep my tab below $30, thanks.)
