Dear PubNighters,
As time goes on PubNight is gravitating more and more to Jersey City. I threw down the gauntlet, PubNighters of Manhattan, Brooklyn, Queens... get it done. Go ahead, pick an Irish pub, trendy wine bar, cocktail lounge, dive joint, hipster paradise. You have SOOOOO many spots to choose from, so do it next week or something.
This week, since it's going to be hot... let's go to the beach! Surf City in Jersey City to be exact. This spot is right on the water overlooking the Statue of Liberty, Ellis Island and the Verrazano Narrows Bridge. The location can't be beat especially when the sun is setting, casting a burnt orange hue on the skyscrapers of lower Manhattan. Hopefully, by being right on the water we will get some refreshing breezes, too.
We are starting at 6 p.m. since young ones will be in attendance. Speaking of kids, there is a giant sand pit and guaranteed, the kids will love it! As for food and beverage, my absolute favorite is a bucket of Old Bay-seasoned shrimp on ice with a pitcher of Schofferhofer Grapefruit Wheat Beer.
That all said, it would be great to see ya...
