Wednesday Pub Night #121 - 7:30 at Chelsea Brewing Company

Back to the Pub Night home page

Good morning,

Something about the air this morning made me saunter to work instead of the usual no-eye-contact, pedestrian slalom. It looks like--more acurately, it smells like Fall is here. Finally a chance to breathe something other than ninety-degree taxi exhaust or forty-degree air conditioning. During this saunter of mine, I was trying to think of a place for our weekly appointment with ethyl. The events of the past few days almost demand a sports theme, but collectively we tend to shy away from "sports bars." We tend to shy towards beer. And, although the weather outside is delightful, it will be a bit cold or wet by tonight. So, sports, beer, and an outdoor view. A quick search on these words on www.excite.com brought me to Leornard's WebCams

Not quite what I was looking for. The human brain worked a bit better in this case. We'll be heading to the Chelsea Brewing Company at Chelsea Piers. There are a few different restaurants in this Sports Mall, so be sure you find the right one. If your biceps are like Mark's, try hitting a few balls at the batting cage on your way in (or maybe we should all try on the way out).

On a note not at all related to beer, sports or river views, Vineel is celebrating the launch of the new Childrens Television Workshop web site at

So, check out his contribution (you'll need Shockwave) and be ready to congratulate or abuse him tonight:

MakeAStory allows you and a preschooler to create a story by dragging and dropping objects, save them as web pages to have people visit them, and print them to make physical storybooksand coloring books. It's the ultimate in web applications.

Meet us tonight at 7:30. Bring your bats, bring your gloves, bring your balls and bring your Elmo.

See you tonight,
