Wednesday Pub Night #63 - 8:00pm at Patrick Kavanagh's

Back to the Pub Night home page

Good morning,

As those of you caught up in your email are already aware, I am back from my sojourn and ready to return to traditional Wednesday night activities. Dan and I will be meeting our parents for dinner tonight, which means that we may be a bit late, but we may get Mr & Mrs out to pubnight (it really is a New York experience, no?).

So, because of the proximity to dinner and because of memories of the last time I was at this pub, we have chosen Patrick Kavanagh's on 3rd Ave between 33rd and 34th. It is, as the name implies, an Irish Pub - one of the nicer, restaurant-y ones rather than a dive bar one. It may rain tonight, but Kavanagh's is nonetheless a pleasant place in the rain (that would be the last time I was there).

By the way, if you are planning to come to the Poconos, please email me now and let me know. I'm leaving right from work tomorrow, so I need to know how many beach passes, canoes, and how much food to buy. Also, we need to arrange car pools.

Other than the aforementioned (last email) reasons to celebrate, Patty and Matt recently tied the proverbial knot (Congratulations!!!), Lynn's sister did likewise, and some people are probably having birthdays.

A big thank you to Petro for planning and hosting PubNight #61 and #62. The PubNight web pages, by the way, have been updated and the new top ten listing is (drum roll...):

  1. Petro 58
  2. Stuart 57
  3. Laura 47
  4. Jon 41
  5. Athomas 40
  6. Steve 33
  7. Kris 30
  8. Leslie 27
  9. Lynn 21
  10. TK 21

...but who's counting?

Let's plan on tonight around 8:00pm

See you tonight,

- stuart
