Wednesday Pub Night #106 - 8:30 at Niagara

Back to the Pub Night home page

Good afternoon,

Well, it looks like Summertime in the late 60s was a popular time for love. We have more May birthdays:

Since Madrid's b-day was closest to Wednesday, she gets to pick the place (an old PubNight rule). She has chosen a little place on Avenue A called Niagara (although she hasn't been there either). So, join us, buy Madrid, Jon and AT birthday shots, and remember that on a hot day you should limit your alcohol intake. Bring your 1940's clothes and attitude.

"Redesigned and expanded in the space that was once the generic neighborhood bar Wally's, Niagara brings a new twist to the Avenue A bar scene. The sleek '40s retro neon-and-chrome bar faces out onto Tompkins Square Park with decidedly endearing Mafia undertones. A candlelit cigar lounge furnished with tables and chairs resides further inside. Guys in fedoras and vintage suits and busty blondes in fake furs make you feel as if you've stepped into a different age--in a different city. The downstairs, named Lei, is a charming little Havana featuring palm trees, enormous fruity drinks stuffed with umbrellas, and a fish tank casting a blue glow over the patrons. The DJs choices are appropriately vintage, although your enjoyment may depend on how much samba you can take" --Christa Toole, CitySearch

See you tonight at 8:30pm. They don't have food (yet), so eat first.
