Wednesday Pub Night #122 - 8:00 at Revival

Back to the Pub Night home page

Good afternoon,

Hope you all voted yesterday and showed your support for our fabulous government system. This Saturday is Mom Piltch's birthday and Cynthia's birthday. Sunday is the anniversary of the birth of Mom Piltch's oldest son. Most likely, I will have more musings about this next week, once I am firmly in my 30s.

Happy Birthday to you and Happy Birthday to me !!

Tonight we'll be at Revival - around the corner from Irving Plaza. Why? Because we haven't been there before. There's no food, so eat first. We'll be there at 8:00.

from CitySearch:

"Taking into consideration the fact that it's located in no man's land next to Irving Plaza, "Revival" ain't bad stuff at all, offering all the bar necessities with a dash of spunk and frivolity. You've got your standard long bar with plenty of good old stools lined up, and for once sitting at the bar and catching a friendly conversation with a cute Aussie bartender (his name is Mark) is actually possible. Besides the sardine effect in the submerged downstairs floor, the low copper-reflecting ceilings (look up and catch a funny reflection of your face) give the feeling that you're in a snazzed-up sports bar. While long and narrow are two excellent adjectives to describe the cramped quarters of this floor, there's always the option of strolling upstairs and sinking into a comfy couch in the more spacious, dapper, antique-feeling lounge, which also has its own bar. The upstairs and downstairs are like two different bars, to a schizophrenic degree, but if you have a split personality or suddenly change your mood from the Giants to Stan Getz, your problem will be solved at "Revival." And vitally, there's a patio out back for that warm spring weather.&emdash;Vanessa Critchell"

See you tonight,
